Ok, so not exactly the same angles here, but you get the picture.
We had our Pre-Drywall inspection last Friday, August 7th. At that point, all of the trades (electrical, plumbing and HVAC) had been completed and passed inspection, per the county...and per us!
From there, they had to deliver insulation and the drywall and then install everything. Also, our front porch is still not complete. They were waiting for our columns to be delivered before the carpenter would come back out to finish the porch. THANKFULLY, the columns were delivered on Saturday!!! Hopefully, it will take them only about a day or two to finish up the porch.
The outside of the house hasn't changed much (the Progress Point has shifted temporarily as there was a ginormous moving truck where I normally stand - our new neighbors moved in this weekend).
Once the drywall is complete, I anticipate they will paint and begin installing all the fun stuff - cabinets, flooring, lighting, appliances, etc. They should be hanging the siding pretty soon, too.
It has been quite amazing to walk around the house with actual walls now! The house is starting to look complete and I can visualize how things will be once it's finished. It's starting to sink in now that we bought a house and it's going to be o-u-r-s! Instead of dates at the local restaurant, we've changed venues and now walk around Lowes, picking up paint samples, browsing tools, blinds, carpet, tiles, and more, oh my! I'm just kidding...we've only had a Lowes date once. But still.
We don't have much of a better idea about when the house will be finished and we can move in. They say about 6 weeks after they hang drywall, the house should be complete. However, they spend another 2-4 additional weeks making sure everything works, doing Quality Assurance-type things before we move in. BEST Case scenario will be 8 weeks (October 2nd) and WORST Case scenario will be 10 weeks (October 16th).
We're getting very excited!!! More pictures to follow when more stuff happens! For now, here's a tour of what the house looks like on the inside thus far.

Day #32 - Friday, July 17, 2009: Roof and framing finished.
Day #33 - Saturday, July 18, 2009: Tar tape on roof, ready for shingles!
Day #35 - Monday, July 20, 2009: Sheet Metal Work started.
Day #36 - Tuesday, July 21, 2009: Front Door delivered!
Day #38 - Thursday, July 23, 2009: HVAC Work mostly complete. Gas line installed.
Day #39 - Friday, July 24, 2009: Outside edging complete. Plumber dropped off pipes.
Day #42 - Monday, July 27, 2009: Plumbing mostly complete. Exterior edging complete.
Day #43 - Tuesday, July 28, 2009: Shingles delivered, front porch concrete poured!
Day #45 - Thursday, July 30, 2009: Shingle-work complete on the roof (still needs to be completed on front porch)
Day #46 - Friday, July 31, 2009: Front Porch started! Wood-working around windows started.
Day #47 - Saturday, August 1, 2009: Electrician arrives and starts the wiring!
Day #53 - Friday, August 7, 2009: Pre-Drywall Inspection
Day #56 - Monday, August 10, 2009: Fire safety system installed and inspected
Day #58 - Wednesday, August 12, 2009: Insulation and Drywall arrive!
Day #59 - Thursday, August 13, 2009: Insulation installed.
Day #60 - Friday, August 14, 2009: Drywall installed, not complete.
Day #61 - Saturday, August 15, 2009: Drywall taped and mudded (but not sanded), columns arrive!

I would put a rectangular entrance table with a rotating flower arrangement as per the season for everyone to enjoy from both outside and inside. I like warm wood but you like modern so pick something that says "you" so people have an introduction of what's to come!
I would recommend a small table that is in the shape of a half oval. With either flowers or a bowl in which you can place your keys
