Pardon the Dust

In an attempt to be over-zealous with my lack of HTML and blog-changing skills, I have made a mess of this blog's design. FAIL!

I am calling in the professionals and a new blog "face lift" is in store...coming in the next few weeks. Until then, please excuse my boring, old blog design!

Bath Time for Babies

We put Camden in the big tub this week... ah! My baby boy has almost outgrown the sink!

Since he's sitting up pretty well by himself these days, we thought we'd give it a try. We put him in the Bumbo seat so that he would be a little more stable in the water until he gets used to it. It's actually wonderful, except you have to keep your hands on it or it will start to float a little bit!

Bobby and I want to make sure Camden isn't scared of the water, so we've been diligently sprinkling water over his head to get him used to it. I half expected a screaming baby after Bobby dumped a cup full of water over his head, but instead, we got a bunch of giggles!!! It even got into his eyes, but he didn't really seem to mind.

Anyway, here are a few pictures I snapped and a video at the end...

Before bath in the big tub, I gave him some bath toys to chew on... except now they're covered in soap. MamaFail.

Daddy gets him to laugh real good :)

I love this one. Little naked baby bum!

23 Weeks

You.are.a.little.lizard.

For the past 2 or 3 days, you have been sticking your tongue out every chance you get! It's quite silly...except now there is way more drool everywhere than there was before... if that's even possible.

You are 23 weeks now, just over five months and you are starting to master sitting up by yourself! You've been doing it ok before now, but in the past 2 weeks or so, you've really started to get the hang of it!

We put you in the big bath tub for the first time this week, too! You LOVED it. All you do is kick your little legs!

Oh how we love you, Little One.

Taken with my iPhone...sorry for the quality!

22 Weeks + 5 Months

Dear Baby,

You make my heart sing with joy every morning. Your sweet face, cheerful noises and dark brown eyes just fill me with happiness. I cannot believe how fast you are growing, and in the past few weeks, it seems as though you are learning something new every day! I love watching you grow, but I also hate knowing that you'll never be this small again. Will you remember our happy and sweet moments when you're older? Will you ever know or understand JUST how much I love you?

It's cliche, baby, I know...but it's all true. I just love you.

You turned five months old this week and you look like such a little boy to me. You giggle so often and you are so cheery. I love the moments when you see Daddy after he's home from work. You start singing and squealing like a little bird when he plays with you! Daddy likes to dress you in all Football attire...you don't seem to mind. Oh, how Daddy loves you too, baby!

You're a bit wobbly, but you can sit by yourself now! If only you could get those legs to move, you could actually reach all of your toys. You also started "sitting" on your hands and knees this week! You're just one step closer to crawling. I can feel it - our lives are going to change when you figure out how to crawl! You are so wiggly and active, I think that's why you're so skinny! So much for those squishy baby rolls... it's ok. You still have Mama's chubby cheeks that I can kiss a million times in a day. A million kisses would still never be enough.

Happy five months to you, Baby. I know the next few months are going to be full, but I can't wait!

Je t'aime, mon petit chou!

OBX 2011: Barrick Family Vacation

Now that it's officially Fall, I figured that I should probably blog the images from our vacation back in AUGUST. Fail. I'm sorry.

We had a great time in Waves, North Carolina on the beautiful shores of the Outer Banks (OBX). This was the first vacation we've taken with all of us together (at least since Bobby and I have known each other) and we had a great time! The Barrick's had never been to OBX, so it was fun for Bobby and me to show them around. We all had fun noting the differences between there and Ocean City, MD, where the Barrick's vacationed growing up. Quite a difference! Anyway, it was fun to make some new memories with everyone together.

Everyone spent most of the days on the beach. Bobby spent every morning's sunrise on the beach with his Jeep. He took Nick and Amanda's boys with him one morning, which Benjamin loved! We built a camp fire another night on the beach, and saw some fireworks! We also celebrated Joey's 20th birthday (Bobby's youngest brother).

This was really our first vacation as a family with Camden around. It was definitely a lot of work, but we all had a good time!

Next Barrick vacation: New Zealand, Christmas 2011!!

Mmm, sandy toes.

Thanks to Nick and Amanda for loaning us this UV tent for the babe. He slept in it for a lot of the time we were on the beach.

Hey, look! I made it into a picture!

Andrew: Fearless.

The Barrick Boys (minus Joey and Benjamin)

Jido and Camden

Nana is pretty fun on the beach: she dug this huge hole for Ben!

Camden's first time in the pool! He started kicking his legs like he knew just what to do, it was so funny!

I love this: Ben reading about Tractors to Cam.

Happy Birthday, Uncle Joey!

I think I posted these before, but we took a family picture of ALL of us together!

ALL of the Barrick Boys: 3 Generations

Aunt Amanda can get him to laugh real good :)

Nana and Jido with the kiddos

Mmm...summer sun. I can almost feel the warmth from this picture.

One of the last nights, we had a campfire on the beach! Good times.

This is a terrible photo, but it's the only one we have of the 3 of us from the trip - ugh!

Ben and Joey's friend, Peter. Love this shot, too funny!

The guys lit up some cigars

Gorgeous sunset over the sound one of the nights. Beautiful!
