16 Weeks + The Best Seats in the House

Well, we have a new note to put in the baby book... First Earthquake: August 23, 2011. How crazy is that? Did you all feel it? I thought it was an airplane flying over my house until I felt my house swaying... I was on the phone with my sister-in-law at the time and she probably thought I was crazy! Wow. Scary.

Anyway, today Camden is 16 weeks old and chewing on EVERYTHING. Seriously. It's kinda gross. I guess we can officially say that our boy is teething? No teeth sprouting yet, but there's some serious chewing going on in that gummy smile of his! I just worry because I hear so many bad things about children when they go through this stage. He's a very happy boy normally, so hopefully it won't be too bad!

This week, Camden has also been wanting to sit up...not sit back like he does in his car seat or bouncer seat...like actually sit up. Since he can't really do that himself yet, we've finally been able to incorporate some more of his toys like the Bumbo seat and his exersaucer. He sat in the exersaucer for 30 minutes today and went down for a nap right after without even a peep. Have a baby that won't nap? Put him in one of those for 30-45 minutes and you'll have one pooped baby!

Our boy is full of smiles and screeching. While at the beach last week, he found his voice and has been exercising it frequently. Mainly when he's annoyed. He smiles a lot and LOVES it when we (i.e. Me) sing to him! Lately, we've been listening to a mix of the Beatles early classics and bible songs. Strange, but he loves it.

In the next few weeks, hopefully, I will have a new blog layout. Ours needs a little updating! I hope it will be fabulous... I'm still waiting on the design to proof and hopefully it will be installed soon after that. So stay tuned and don't be alarmed if you come back and things look a little different!

Have a great week!

He makes this surprised look all the time! Usually it's followed up with a giant grin, but never when Mama's camera is out, of course.

He is all eyes.

Baby loves to stand!

15 Weeks!

Our sweet baby doesn't stop growing while we're on vacation! Nope. He's experiencing lots of firsts this week while we're at the beach. It's so fun to see him learn so many new things! Keeping it short this week, so here's his weekly picture! (Forgive the red eyes, he was so tired in this picture!)

14 Weeks

Every day is something new. And every day is a new day.

Since Camden was born, I haven't felt that complete exhaustion that so many people talk about. Maybe that's because he's not terribly mobile yet... I know, I know. It's coming. For now, I'm enjoying my baby who just likes to stand up on my legs and smile at me because I'm his mama.

Every morning is precious and I will cherish it until the day I die. Around 6am every morning, I hear a little song bird down the hall. I go to his crib and there is a big, toothless grin waiting for me. Once he sees me, his legs kick like crazy. We go back to our bed and nurse. He doesn't nurse for long in the mornings, but I think it's because he's just so excited to see us. He spends the next 20 minutes smiling, standing, burping, and just being downright adorable. We kiss Daddy good morning, sing a few songs, then head downstairs to make breakfast and lunch for Bobby. As soon as Daddy is out the door, it's back to bed for me and Camden. We cuddle up in the fluffiest blanket we can find, Camden sucks that pacifier until there's no tomorrow, and we're both out like a light at 7:30am sharp.

Now that he's a little over 3 months old, he enjoys being on his belly more and more. On his 3 month birthday, our sweet boy rolled over for the first time! We had some friends over when he did it, so she is my witness (Nicole, right!?)! He did it again for Bobby later that evening. Of course, he won't do it for me while I'm trying to record it.

So for this week's picture, I'm showing you how he likes to be now: on his belly. He's also a side-sleeper now instead of his back, but we won't tell anyone :) Also, there's a video of Camden playing. Nothing much, just him and his toys and his adorable "kicky feet." I love him.

This is as close as Killian will come to Camden. And this is the ONLY time he's ever come this close to him. We make kitty noises all the time...he loves "Meow!" Killian - not amused. I don't think Camden is so sure of him yet.

13 Weeks

My baby is 13 weeks old today... he will be 3 months old tomorrow. WOAH. I suppose he's out of that infant/newborn stage now. Very sad. That does not mean that there's a shortage of cuddling going on though. Camden and I take a nap every morning together (I know, bad!) and it's the most wonderful thing ever. I will always cherish these days I have at home with him.

I got a new wireless remote for my camera this week, so I'm finally able to take pictures of myself with the baby... we had some fun this afternoon in his nursery, when the best light fills the room.

I plan to do a cloth diaper update pretty soon. Lots of people are asking about it! I am also going to be updating with some pictures from the basement, since we completely neglected it once Cam was born! Whoops!

Here are some pictures (and a fun comparison) from today. Enjoy!
